Thesele has, and continues to, leverage on a limited amount of strategic investment opportunities in the industrial sector. We focus on businesses where there is a substantial opportunity to unlock or create value and where we can utilise our skill and business acumen to create value-add to acquisition targets. Our activities to date includes a 25% interest in Seartec industries (Pty) Limited, a distributor of Sharp-branded office equipment, and a subsidiary of the listed Seardel Group. This investment was exited on October 2008. Thesele remains exposed to the industrial sector through is interest in Sasol. We acquire shares in Sasol through the Sasol Inzalo broad-based offering.

In August 2010, Thesele in partner with Kwande Petroleum (Pty) Ltd, La Femme Investments, Noluthando Gosa and Felleng Sekha acquired a 19.9% equity interest in KBR SA (collectively the “Kwande-Thesele consortium”) Thesele’s shareholding in Kwande-Thesele is 37.5%,which translates into a 7.46% effective economic interest in KBR SA.
