Prudential Portfolio Managers South Africa (Prudential) forms part of a global asset manager company managing equities, bonds, property, venture capital and cash for pension funds and other institutional investors. Thesele acquired a 15% stake in Prudential in May 2006. We continue to play a role in the key operational processes within this business, and are represented by Thabo Leeuw who serves on the Prudential Board.
                                      
An exciting part of our role in this particular asset is the product development arena, which has begun to see the creation of new offerings that will ensure the expansion of Prudential’s business. 

Thesele chairs the newly established Prudential Transformation Committee. We have also identified areas which offer the opportunity for further transformation. We have assisted in the identification, evaluation, recruitment and ongoing mentoring of talented black individuals, and through Thesele’s direct efforts have enabled Prudential to recruit senior, skilled black staff into the business.

Thesele is involved in new business development. To date, Thesele executives have been involved in some new business pitches. Fund inflows have grown significantly since we became a shareholder, with assets under management more than doubling from R33 billion.
